A few simple gestures that are virtuous

Living with epilepsy means learning to listen to your body.
Over time, I have come to understand that seizures depend not only on medication, but also on our lifestyle, our emotions and the way we treat ourselves on a daily basis.

Here are 5 simple things that really help me feel better, reduce stress and maintain a good mood. They don't replace treatment, but bring me peace of mind. 🐾

1️⃣ Walking, breathing, taking fresh air
There is nothing better than a walk in the open air to quiet the mind.
When I go for a walk with my dog, I feel my stress decreasing and my head getting lighter.
Those moments remind me that life is not just about doctor's appointments.

“Walking calms the mind - even a few steps do some good.”

2️⃣ Reconnecting with yourself through your passions

Drawing, music, gardening, reading...

These activities help me release tension and express what I feel without having to talk.

“Express yourself through what you love to do.”

3️⃣ Sleeping early and disconnecting from screens

Sleep is my best natural medicine.

I avoid phones, screens and evening stress.

Going to bed at a set hour helps me avoid seizures.

“Sleep is the brain's recharge.”

4️⃣ Surrounding yourself with the right people

Being surrounded by caring people changes everything.

Positive friends lift me up and remind me that I am not alone, even in difficult moments.

“The right people bring peace to your soul.”

5️⃣ Being proud of yourself, without shame

I no longer hide my epilepsy.

I live with it, I take care of myself, and I stay strong.

“I'm epileptic, so what?”

Because that sense is not a weakness - it is a source of pride.

The pride to keep going, despite everything, to stay yourself and inspire others to do the same.
