Testimonial #10 - Athéna
🌸 I am Athéna (a nickname, because I want to remain anonymous).
I have always been a woman full of life. I loved my work and shared my life with my husband, who was also my colleague. Everything seemed made to last. Until the day I had my very first epileptic seizure at 30.
It was the start of a series of attacks... and the beginning of a total upheaval.
Because of the illness, I had to leave my job. My husband also decided to leave. But soon I discovered a painful truth: after six years of relationship, what I held for love turned out to be mere pretence. To him, I was a passing woman, useful for his projects, but not his real life choice.
💔 This discovery, along with my seizures, initially broke me deeply. I felt like I had lost everything: my relationship, my job, my footing.
But over time, I felt a kind of release, as if my soul and body were losing weight. My seizures have now stabilised. I no longer work, living off my sickness benefit and life savings.
🌱 Above all: I opened my eyes.
My first attack was a shock: it forced me to see the truth, to distinguish sincere people from appearances. What seemed like an end became a new beginning.
I live better alone than poorly accompanied. My attacks, however painful, woke me up from a dream. Today I look at life differently, with more clarity, truth... and strength.
